acid wash.

pockets.

sometimes a girl's just gotta wear some acid wash. ain't nothing wrong with that.

i've been thoroughly enjoying wearing PANTS as of late. i think this is central to me wearing biking-friendly garb so that i can show of my new bike (pictures to come)! i've been bragging a good deal about it to anyone that will listen so i'll try to keep a lid on it. it's just exactly what i was looking for and i got a great deal on it so HOORAY! that is all.

care package swap.

why am i so happy, you might ask? where did i get that adorable blouse you may be wondering? (also, why is my mirror so dirty?! eek...) well i'll tell you! the lovely and adorable annalise from hummingbird girls contacted me this summer and asked if i might want to do a care package swap. of course i said yes! the package arrived this morning, and i couldn't be more giddy about its contents...

little swan buddy's new home...

thanks so much to annalise for all the goodies! if any of you out there are interested in swap-ing some care packages i would also be interested, however now that i'm back at school it might have to wait until the winter break. but it's worth a try anyway! yay for goodies! (PS annalise thrifted all the goodies from her local sally ann).

everything's peachy.

peach outfit 2.

well, back to school has officially been marked by my first homework-induced meltdown! hooray! haha. this term my number one goal is to develop my stress-management skills a little. because nobody likes tense shoulders and acid reflux, right? i much prefer a cup of tea and some classical music to go with my gallons of reading, thank you very much.

in keeping with the classic neutral theme (it's very calming you know!), i found this lovely silk blouse at Joe and have been waiting for the weather to cool a bit to wear it (nothing worse than sticky silk).

last days of summer.

vancouver has been soaked in light and warmth for the last few weeks. sprinklers have been kept on, outdoor pools are open, patios are filled. i can tell the city is trying to soak up these last few days of summer, and i'm no exception. i wanted to get a few snapshots up on the blog before the blusters set in. i must admit though, i'm starting to get excited to wear my wool sweaters and fuzzy tights again.

ah, seasonal transitions. what are autumnal activities are you looking forward to?

summer market at Old Faithful.

Old Faithful Sunday Farmers Market

last sunday i helped out at the Old Faithful summer market in gastown. i can't praise Old Faithful enough; Walter and Savannah run a tight ship full of beautifully crafted and sourced household wares, plants, accessories, etc. add in a bunch of beautiful local food and that's one smooth operation. honestly, it was a pleasure to just STAND NEAR such an arrangement of food let alone be able to TAKE SOME HOME afterwards! yum.

if you're in vancouver don't miss the next market - there's no telling when it'll happen so check out the Old Faithful facebook page for updates.

my outfit details:
- vintage Ralph Lauren silk blouse from Erin Templeton
- vintage silk skirt also from Erin Templeton
- vintage oxford booties from Mintage

last escape of the summer.

canopy. found. fire in field. tent in woods. zb in fort. feets. zb+jb. nighttime. sun hair. morning swim.

jb and i went in search of solace this weekend and boy, did we find it. we went to my favorite place and camped overnight under a canopy of leaves with no one around for miles. i must say, i had to get over my city girl fear of silence. as soon as night set in and the dog-walkers headed home all we could hear was crickets. and rather than peace, serenity or solace... my first response was uneasiness! i suppose that's what i love most about being in nature: where there is deep peace there is also a sense of total vulnerability. needless to say, it was the perfect end to my summer vacation.

it seems like this blog is being filled with camping photos! but don't worry, some more "urban" pictures will come soon. ^_^
