jb's new boots

Holy picture-heavy post, Batwoman! Jb and I had so much fun walking around our neighbourhood the other day. Jb has been needing some boots for so long so we finally took the plunge and got him so Zeha's from Umeboshi. Ohhh man are they beautiful.* We also stopped for some tea and snacks. It was one of those days that really made me appreciate my neighbourhood. I'm lucky... I have a lot of those days.

Also, for those that may not have heard, Jb and I entered the Swedish Hasbeens contest and we would love it if you VOTED FOR US! At the moment we're neck and neck for first place! O_O

outfit details:
- Thrifted plaid skirt
- Blouse from Front & Co.
- Zeha oxfords

jb outfit details:
- J.crew military jacket
- UO chambray button up
- Levi jeans
- Vintage oxfords from Citizen Vintage in Montreal

*I want to say, as a disclaimer, that Zeha's are kind of ridiculously high-priced. This was one of those purchases that literally required some intense financial planning for us. But in the long run, Zeha's are one of those products that hearkens back to the old days of hand-crafted, quality shoes and they could last Jb 8-10 years (if he takes care of them). I mention this because the last thing I would want to do on this blog is promote an unattainable and materialistic upper class model of shopping. With that said, I do believe that in this case quality mattered over quantity.

Off to do some more horrid super-awesome-fun homework!

xoxo.

  1. I love Main Street!

I don't think you should even have to apologize for buying high quality, hand made, and presumably made somewhere reasonable shoes... nor do I think it's an unattainable model of shopping. Not that I could afford them at this precise moment, but I think it would be a lot better if we returned to the model of only having one or two pairs of shoes, that we look after and have for years, rather than buying more "affordable" things all the time. Also, hehe, they're not even that expensive for what they are, as opposed to a lot of designer crap. :D

I used to live right off of Main St. and LOVED it! it's like 7yrs ago, and now it is more of a trendy street than when I lived. but still, favorite place in Vancouver!!

  5. my man is obsessed with boots. Especially this past year. He is worse than I am. It's been fun seeing glimpses of you and your boy together these past weeks.

Fall looks beautiful with you. I miss the changing of leaves like that, there seems to be no seasons here.

  7. Quality > quanity all the way!
Shoes are also a good item to splurge on because of how often you wear them and how long they'll last. I got my boy a pair of similar looking ones at UO and they are already falling apart. Boo!
Also, you are lookin' pretty adorable as always.
