wintery plaid.

wintery plaid 2.

i am OFFICIALLY done exams! this can only mean that my christmas fever will be reaching its pinnacle now that the ghost of stressful GPA pressure is out of the picture. we recently watched muppet christmas carol and i will hopefully be making a gingerbread house asap. IT'S TIME!!!

sorry, i know i must be nauseating to those of you who (understandably) do not celebrate or despise the materialism of modernized christmas. i totally get this. for me it is pure escapism. now i can pretend that by painting my nails sparkly red and watching puppets prance around while singing "t'is the season to be merry and joyful" will solve all my personal problems. and there's always that swelling sense that if we all just give a bit to charity this year and waste a little less wrapping paper, we might just be able to make this world work. maybe it's a hope in hell and a tidbit naïve, but it's only for the month of december, i promise.

on a fashion-y note, i adore this little vintage plaid skirt. i've had it for years now and although it's a little big for me now i just can't help but wear it every winter. plaid has definitely made a comeback with the new preppy/ivy-league look, but i feel that it's always been somewhat badass. and warm!

they were sparkly too.

chilly.

christmastime!

bam.

it's christmastime peeps! so embrace the awkward synthesizer versions of "silent night", the weird smell of plastic tinsel slowly melting on top of the vent, the crazy loud family dinners, the sound of bing crosby crooning and the epic, silent peace that comes with snowfall and candlelight. also new hairstyles, care of the lovely ladies over at the eastside vanity parlour. yay!

warming in front of the hearth.

christmas dress.

glow.

mistletoe.

blurry birdie.

cheeky.

christmas card!
i was so excited to find this christmas dress at the temple of the modern girl boutique on main. it's one of those really well made wiggle dresses of the 60s, complete with hand stitched tear-drop beading and super soft lining. ah, the good old days.

outfit details:
- christmas dress: temple of the modern girl boutique on main street
- warm wooly tights: front & co. on main street
- little white gloves: deluxe junk in gastown
- feathery wedges: urban outfitters (last year)

merry christmas to all!

xoxo.
