mermaids.

source

mermaids was one of the first "pg-13" movies i watched at a friend's house without my parents knowing. looking back, that really was the best way to see it, given winona rider's underlying rebellion. it's now one of my favorites - for the themes and adorable girliness, but mostly for the fashion. ohhhh yum.

the hunt... revised.

maxi skirt.

saturday proved to be real productive. despite the overwhelming urge to nap we managed to go to yoga, do laundry, get bubble tea/pho/groceries and even go thrifting - pretty good for a lazy, sunny saturday if i do say so myself. yeah! (trying to stay positive amidst buckets of reading and unpacking to do...)

the hunt.

help me help you.

pennyfarthing.

i made sure to put my parisian closet philosophy into practice at the thrift store and managed to only walk away with one striped sweater and a pair of men's chino shorts (although i was dearly tempted by the excess of jerry maguire VHS copies). i almost took home this pennyfarthing blouse, but knowing i would probably only wear it a few times decided let it go. le sigh.

when i bought this skirt i had intentions of shortening it, but i just loved the material so much i couldn't bare to slice it up. i'm glad i took the risk, it's nice to have a long, fall skirt to wear. anyone else take any personal style risks this fall?

out of it.

Cabeças White Rabbit

hello all!

it has been a whopping 14 days since any news from me, my apologies on that front. i'm really just apologizing to myself because i had vowed to keep the content up on this blog despite going back to school this september... but c'est la vie. no internet connection + homework = lack of content. so maybe these awesome pics from rödel LA will make up for it:

Reality is Forbidden

through all the craziness of moving (pictures of our new place coming! if i can get it together to pick up my dirty socks and hairballs!) i managed to steal a few minutes worth of web surfing thanks to the briefly unprotected "PortalToHell" wireless network (thanks new goth neighbour, whoever you are) and dug up these awesome images from Helen Rödel, a latin american designer i somehow found on flickr. i just remember stumbling across her stuff a few years back and thinking how it reminded me of charlie and the chocolate factory/grandma knits/70's flicks/donnie darko?!? awesome combo.

i promise when jb gets back from TIFF (that jerk's off having martini's with terrance howard and playing catch with the kid from the road) we will work on some outfit photos/more original content to put up on this budding blog of mine. but in the mean time, do any of you have favorite fall collections to share? i'm all aglow with plaid and navy blue and scarfs presently.

thanks again for dropping by!

much love.
